Hello! In case we've never met, here's a bit about me. Throughout the course of my more than 35 year career and multiple volunteer endeavors I have:
I am excited to use both my skill and my passion to help bring your ideas to life. As a life-long New Englander I am especially focused on working on community centered initiatives in the Northeast.
My passion for building back habitat right at home led to the launch of ‘Prickly Ed's Cactus Patch’, a business I co-founded with my husband in 2020. I have deep roots in organic, wildlife centered gardening and am on a mission to change the way we approach landscaping for the greater good. If you share this passion let's connect and discuss how I can help you in your community.
I am passionate about supporting the grassroots organizations that weave together the fabric of life in our communities. Too often these small organizations lack the resources to have all of the executive and operational supports needed to seed growth. That's why I am delighted to lend my expertise to boards and founding staff members looking for strategic and operational support to grow impact.
My rich understanding of child development, coupled with coursework in architecture, design and real estate has yielded an eclectic but intuitive understanding of the space needs of young children in care and educational settings. I am especially passionate about creating spaces that encourage interaction with nature. Dig in on some of the resources I have created for early learning spaces below.
I have been a leader in the field of early childhood education finance, systems and policy for more than three decades. My experience includes leading and growing large, complex organizations and spearheading state and national initiatives. In addition to a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of the entire early childhood system, I have a particular niche expertise in child care facilities design, development and financing.
I was raised a free range child with the benefit of acres of conservation land right across the street. My passion for preserving open space led me to join the Board of Trustees of my local Land Conservation Trust where I championed the successful search for our first executive director, serve as Chairperson of the Development Committee and help facilitate our Pollinator Pathway Initiative.
In 2006 I joined together with area residents to found Barrington Partnership for Animal Welfare. Our efforts resulted in Barrington moving from having the highest euthanasia rate in the State in 2005 to becoming a no-kill community by 2008. This effort was only the latest in a lifetime of animal rescue and advocacy work. I have been a lifelong volunteer for shelters and rescue organizations and have played an integral role in fundraising campaigns and strategy development.
